 Elizabeth is letting me use her oven to bake my Panamanian rum cake, so I went to the store this morning to get all the ingredients. I stopped at the liquor store on the way home and look what I found. Ron Abuelo Anejo! Panamanian rum for my Panamanian rum cake, yummy. It's almost a shame to use it in a cake instead of drinking it. I might have to have a sip or two, ron con coco or ron con leche!

 Who ever thought building a cake would be so nerve racking! This is my granddaughters cake for her second birthday. My hands were shaking, my knees were knocking, I had to remind myself it was just a cake. anyhow one end was raspberry filled and the other end was strawberry. It was a cute cake when it was done. Now it's time to get back to work. I'm working on a bull rider photo quilt and am not sure I like how it's coming out. I'll have to play with it a little more. Then back to the jewelry for another round while I wait for another silk shipment. There are big surprises coming in about ten days! Well maybe a little longer.
 Tried a new recipe for coconut shrimp last night, easy and yummy. I think the double dipping was the secret, nice and crunchy. Those were the last three and I ate them for lunch today. Pork carnitas for dinner tonight.  I finally got back to the gold wire to make some armatures. Five feet of gold wire doesn't go very far. I am glad to have something to work on while waiting for some more picture quilts commissions. Build up my stock pile.
 I dug out my oils, finally. This is from the cover of Kevin MacPhersons book. Not any where near as good as his but I need the practice and I love the colors. It gave me a chance to play in the oils and I managed to get paint on my pants. Should have put on my work pants first.
Great sky practice and I need the practice, haven't played with the oils in a long time. Other then that all I did was play in the kitchen. I made mojo de ajo, I've been out for MONTHS. Made a batch of chimmichurri and a batch of pico de gallo. Can you guess what's for dinner tonight? I have some pork cooking to make pork carnitas for tacos to go with all the sauces. Yummy!  No painting, no quilting. OPS. Made blueberry bread, blueberry bread french toast for breakfast. Yummy!
