This week's "sketchbook skool" assignment was to paint the sky where you're at. This is what I saw this morning. Yesterday I went into town and sketched at Irish Kevin's, well at least until some guy came in and sat down right behind me. He was basically looking over my shoulder and it was too much pressure for me, I was outta there. It was just a quick sketch, not even completed, but I did it and that's a big step for me. I need to get out and do more sketching in public.

Waiting for Elizabeth and Kia to get home. Perspective is way off, that's what happens when I rush.
Hmmm, can't upload pictures from my cell phone anymore. Delete the app and start over. No fishing for me today but I still ended up with fresh fish, cleaned, sealed and ready for later.
Threw together a rum cake for the crew tomorrow, I might have to save a piece for Charlie. Nine months and counting. Sunday morning with easy eggs benny. I haven't been posting on here lately but I am trying to get back into it this month. I received a phone call from my friend Mel last night, he just celebrated his 90th birthday. He's been my "political advisor" for several years. The man knows his history and is still sharp as a tack. He just called to say he misses me, isn't that sweet? Happy birthday Mel!
This is today's efforts. It is a Beanie Baby eagle that "Grandma Phyllis" gave all the girls in the main building at work. I'm not sure she really knows who I am. Being hidden in the back corner has it's advantages and disadvantages. I avoid a lot of the office politics but I miss out on the joking around that makes the day go faster. There was a lot of tension at work this week and the long weekend is much appreciated. Yesterday was the first day of "Sketchbook Skool". I've been so uninspired lately I am hoping this will re-energize me. Danny Gregory was the first instructor, I enjoy his work. I am also hoping this will help me get over my "fear" of sketching in public. These are the shoes I wore in Panama, wandering around the whole country and I think I got my sketchbook out a total of two times. I want that to change, I want sketching to become an everyday habit.
