I woke up this morning in one of "those" moods. The best cure for that is painting. Triptych done, fish need flies and fishing line, just starting on the mule and donkey.

Starting to ramp it up for the Montana Cellabration of the Arts in November. Triptych with hay field and a couple trout pictures.
I have a silk commission piece to do and figured I'd better refresh my skills. Lot's of color and a little whimsy in this practice piece. I have to figure out a background for this but it's a fun start. I've forgotten the in's and out's of silk painting and its only been a couple years.
Opening reception at Montana Bliss Artworks was fabulous, lots of interest in my work and a couple of sales. If you have a chance stop in and see whats there. I have the liquid oils, a couple of silk paintings, a few photo memory quilts and some painted window screens. Photo memory quilts and window screens are always available for commission.
Speaking of commission work I delivered the Shiba Inu Friday. Love happy clients. Check out my work and let me know what I can create for you. I don't know much about the history of this breed but what a great face! This is the beginning of a commissioned piece and it looks like it's going to be fun!
I've been thinking about a turtle painting for quite a while but got one started. I ran across a sketch I did about 15 years ago and decided it was time to give it a try.
The show at Montana Bliss Gallery was a very good evening. I met some amazing artists and patrons. Looking forward to next months show. I will be at art in the park in Hamilton at Legion park on July 22nd. Today was all about art therapy for myself. Unnecessary cruel comments by unthinking/jeleous family members Trying out a new technique after a happy accident with the California quail. This will be a layered process with this being round one.
Sometimes the hardest part about being an artist is stepping back and letting the paint do it's thing.
I went to farmers market this morning and was just so grateful to be back in Montana with the mountains and trees and colors and on and on. I also walked out of there with a ton of ideas for painting and a use for my iterrupted chicken. |
